Belly Binding

The traditional Jamu postnatal Belly Binding has its origins in 17th century Indonesia. This technique helps restore energy to the muscles while providing a relaxing experience for new mothers. This process aids in restoring the well-being and strength of the postpartum woman.


The Jamu postnatal massage is followed by abdominal binding, a technique that helps restore a new mother's figure. A long cotton cloth is wrapped from the pelvic to the stomach area to help reduce water retention.


Eléonore, our Women’s Health Physiotherapist, is a certified practitioner of the traditional postnatal Indonesian treatment, having received their training and certification from the Jamu Spa School in Bali, Indonesia.

The treatment includes three key components:

1) Traditional massage techniques

2) Herbal abdominal mask

3) Jamu binding procedures.


The abdominal massage not only helps guide the uterus back into its proper position but also reduces abdominal fluid retention and gas. The treatment is completed with belly binding, which helps improve posture, provide back support, realign the uterus and internal organs and flatten the abdomen.


The belly binding specifically helps minimize the impact of diastasis recti, prevent hip widening, and enhance waist narrowing.






For mothers who have had a C-section, it is recommended to wait between 30 to 40 days before starting the treatment. For those who had a natural delivery, the treatment can begin as early as 7 days after delivery.

1) Traditional massage techniques of the abdomen and the back, combined with physiotherapy release techniques to release postpartum tensions

4) Lymphatic massage of arms and legs
